ITINERARY:
Day 01 Delhi
Meet our representative upon arrival in Delhi and check-in at the hotel. India's capital & a major gateway to the country, Delhi is contemporaryand a bustling metropolis which successfully combines in its fold the ancient & the modern. Itsstrategic location was one of the prime reasonswhy successive dynasties chose it as their seat of power. New Delhi also reflects the legacy the British left behind. Overnight in Delhi
Day 02 Sightseeing in Delhi
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day tour of Old and New Delhi. This fascinating city has been in existence since the 6th century BC andhas seen ups and downs from the rule of the Pandavas right up to the British Raj. Visit Jama Masjid, which is the largest mosque in India,commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan. The courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers. Enjoy a rickshaw ride in ChandniChowk, the busiest market in Old Delhi...noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian. You will then drive past to the Red Fort, which was constructedduring the rule of Emperor Shah Jahan and served as the residence for the Mughal royal family. It continues to be significanttill date, as everyIndependence Day, the Prime Minister makes a speech from its ramparts asthe Indian flag is hoisted. Later, drive past President House andseveral other government buildings in Edwin Lutyen’s Delhi before you head toward Rajghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. This simplememorial marks the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948. Thereafter, visit Humayun’s Tomb, commissioned by Humayun’s wifeHamida Banu Begum in 1562. It was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent where the Persian architect used red sandstone ona large scale. Later in the evening visit the Qutab Minar, which is the tallest brick minaret in the world; it was commissioned by QutbuddinAibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi.(Optional)-Attend a Sufi ceremony at Nizamuddin Dargah).Return back to Hotel. Day 03 Delhi to Kalka
Early morning, get your pack breakfast from hotel and proceed for railway station to board your train for Kalka.Upon arrival, you will beassisted by ourrepresentative at Kalka railway station & proceed to Shimla. Overnight stay in Shimla.
Day 04 Trip to Kufri
Drive to Kufri after breakfast. This is a popular picnic spot located 16km from Shimla. You may hike on foot to the Mahasu Peak or pay for amuleride up the hill. Mahasu is the tallest peak in Kufri that gives tourists an amazing view of distant snow-capped peaks. Return to the hotelin the afternoon. In the evening, take a walk on Shimla’s famous boulevard, Mall Road. See fine specimens of colonial architecture, snack atthe various eateries in the market or shop for souvenirs. Overnight stay in Shimla.
Day 05 Drive from Shimla to Manali
After breakfast, drive towards Manali–Offers super views of the Dhauladharand Pir Panjal ranges, and with mountain adventures beckoningfrom all directions, Manali is a year-round magnet for tourists. Apart from temples, Manali is popular among adventure tourists coming fortrekking, paragliding, rafting and skiing. Check-in atthe hotel and spend evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Manali
Day 06 Manali
In morning after breakfast, go on an adventurous drive to Solang valley–a major attraction, without which the trip remains incomplete. Allabove mentionedadventure activities can be availed here at Solang Valley. Apart from activities, there are splendid views to enjoy in andaround the Solang Valley. Day 8: Drive from Manali to Dharamshala
After breakfast, check-outfrom the hotel and drive to Dharamshala. Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel. Spend the evening at leisure. Overnightstay in Dharamshala
Day 9: Sightseeing in Dharamshala
After breakfast, visit Tsuglagkhang Complex-Centre of Tibetan culture, which includes a museum and the residence of His Holiness DalaiLama–the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. Later, visit popular monasteries, Tibetan medical center and the Church of St. John. Also, you may rejuvenate yourself with yoga and meditation retreats available in Dharamshala (optional). Day 10: Drive from Dharamshala to Amritsar
After early breakfast, drive to Amritsar-colloquially known as Ambarsar, is a spiritually significant city for the followers of Sikhism. The cityderives its name from the sacred pool, which was founded in 1574 by Guru Ram Das-the 4th Sikh guru. This holy pond circumscribes HarmandirSahib, which is popularly known as the Golden Temple amongst devotees. After check-in at the hotel, proceed to India-Pakistan border atWagah. Watch the‘Beating the Retreat’ceremony where soldiers of both countries bringdown their respective national flags in their uniquestyles. Evening return back to hotel. Overnight stay in Amritsa
Day 11: Sightseeing in Amritsar
After breakfast, proceed for half day sightseeing tour of Amritsar. Visit the Golden Temple...the most exalted of all Sikh shrines, drawingpilgrims from near and far for centuries. For the Sikh community the Harmandir Sahib Gurdwara Golden Temple is the final spiritual "vision,"journey's end or beginning. The Amrit Sarovar (pool of nectar), or the holy tank that encircles the Darbar Sahib, has given Amritsar its name.Later visit Jalianwala Bagh...a solemn reminder of the 2000 Indians killed and wounded here in the firing by the British in 1919. JalianwalaBagh commemorates the martyrs, keeping the tragic episode in its historical context. Today, one finds a small gallery, the well into which the crowds jumped to escape the hail of bullets, and a simple memorial. Overnight stay in Amritsar.
Day 12: Amritsar to Delhi
Early morning, get your packed breakfast from hotel and proceed for railway station to board your train for Delhi.Upon arrival, you will be assisted by our representative in Delhi. Overnight stay in Delhi
Day 13: Depart from Delhi
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Delhi and meet assistance at airport for return flight back home
